Joseph A. Muldowney

Joseph Muldowney, 79, of Ocean, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on June 27, 2022. Joe was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 1, 1943, to the late John and Dorothy Muldowney. He was raised in Bergenfield. He attended Don Bosco Preparatory High School in Ramsey and Niagara University in NY. He had a lifelong career as a Certified Public Accountant. Joe was a devoted husband to his wife, best friend, and childhood sweetheart, Elaine (Marino) Muldowney. They were longtime residents of Lincroft, NJ, where they raised their two children, Elaine and Joseph. Joe found joy in not only his adventures travelling, but also stopped to appreciate the little moments. He was a consummate friend to dogs, enjoyed going on dates to the Windmill with his wife, walks on the boardwalk, and skiing with his family. He always radiated positivity and had a smile and a joke for everyone he met. Joe adopted St. Agatha, Maine as his second home and his own paradise. He enjoyed meeting with friends for coffee every morning, riding his boat on Long Lake, and ATV rides. He was always up for a new adventure, whether it be rides on the snow mobile, his motorcycle, or ice fishing. Joe’s proudest achievement was his family, whom he loved beyond measure. He enjoyed family gatherings, sharing his hobbies and stories with his family, and being his children and grandchildren’s biggest supporter. Joe is predeceased by his parents, and his brothers, John, and Edward Muldowney. He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Muldowney, his daughter, Elaine Berman and her husband, Haskell Berman, his son, Joseph Muldowney, and his wife, Joanne Muldowney, his grandchildren, Sara Jane Muth and her husband, Douglas Muth, Jake Muldowney, and Matthew Muldowney, and his great grandchildren, James Muth and Sophie Muth. Joe's visitation will be held 4-8 PM on Thursday, June 30 at Bongarzone Funeral Home, 2400 Shafto Road, Tinton Falls, NJ. His funeral mass will be offered at 10 AM on Friday, July 1 at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, 603 7th Avenue, Belmar, NJ. Entombment will follow at St. Gabriel's Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleums, Marlboro, NJ.
