It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fernando Antonio Gongora, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Fernando departed this world on July 26, 2023, after bravely battling complications of Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. He was 80 years old. Fernando was born on September 8, 1942, and his life was marked by love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to his family. He was a pillar of strength and a source of inspiration to all who knew him. In his younger years, Fernando met the love of his life, Marcia Gongora, and they embarked on a beautiful journey together, sharing a lifetime of love and cherished memories. Their bond was unbreakable, and Fernando's devotion to Marcia was evident in every aspect of their life together. As a father, Fernando was a guiding light to his two sons, Marcelo Gongora and Manuel Gongora. He instilled in them the values of kindness, hard work, and compassion, shaping them into the fine individuals they are today. Fernando's love and support knew no bounds, and he took immense pride in the men his sons had become. His role as a grandfather brought unparalleled joy to Fernando's life. He adored his grandchildren, Kerri, Melina, Kacie, and Damien, who brought smiles to his face and warmth to his heart. He treasured every moment spent with them, cherishing their laughter and accomplishments with immense pride. Fernando's memory will also be cherished by his daughters-in-law, Meredith and Catherine, whom he welcomed into the family with open arms. Their presence enriched his life, and he loved them like his own. Beyond his family, Fernando touched the lives of many friends and acquaintances. He was known for his warm and welcoming demeanor, always offering a helping hand and a listening ear to those in need. His generous spirit and genuine kindness left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone he encountered. While we mourn the loss of Fernando Antonio Gongora, we find comfort in the memories he leaves behind. His legacy of love, compassion, and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Visitation to celebrate Fernando's life will be held on August 1, 2023, at Bongarzone Funeral Home 2400 Shafto Rd, Tinton Falls, NJ 07712 from 6:30 P.M.- 8:30 P.M.. Family and friends are invited to join together in remembering and honoring this beloved man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Alzheimer's Association ( ALZ.ORG ) in Fernando's name, as we as a family are a strong advocate for supporting research and finding a cure for Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. Fernando, you will be deeply missed, but your love will remain in our hearts forever. May you rest in peace, knowing that you made this world a brighter place for all who had the privilege of knowing you.
