William James Peet II

William James Peet II, 94, of Seabrook Village, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025 with his beloved wife and family at his side. William (Bill) was born on August 11, 1931 in Evanston, Illinois to Roy William and Helen Adaire Peet. He had one sister, Suzanne. He attended high school in Summit, New Jersey, where he met his bride-to-be, Elizabeth. He went on to university at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), earning a Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Upon graduation in 1953, he and Elizabeth married. Bill proudly served in the Navy during the Korean War, and following his honorable discharge, they moved their growing family to New Jersey, eventually settling in West Allenhurst. They had three children; William James (Jim), Linda Ann, and Robert Baker (as well as a loyal Boxer named Tacky). Bill served as a Vice President at Electronic Associates Inc., and President of the American branch of AGA Corp, before starting his own company: Peet Bros, Inc. Over his long career, Bill was also a member of the Young Presidents’ Association, held multiple patents, and was a serial inventor. He had a passion for helping his community, which led him to become one of the founding members of the ARC of Monmouth County (which provides educational opportunities to individuals with disabilities) and supporter of, and fundraiser for, the Depot Restoration Project in his beloved Greenville Maine. Bill was well known for being a fabulous husband, father, neighbor, and friend, enthusiastically hosting and participating in men's poker nights, gourmet group, and parties such as Peet’s Downs (an annual croquet tournament), Christmas in July, and Full Moon Soiree. All events were characterized by laughter and friendship and Elizabeth was there for all of it. They were avid tennis players, and proud members of the Moosehead Lake Yacht Club, and the Belmar Fishing Club. He cherished the friends they made there and the good times they shared. But most of all he loved his family, proudly attending birthdays, performances, tennis matches, graduations, and weddings as he watched them grow. Unfailingly gracious and kind to the end, he will be missed. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Roy William and Helen Adaire Peet; his son Robert Baker Peet; and his sister Suzanne Peet Pollion. He is survived by his wife of 72 years Elizabeth B. Peet; his children William James Peet III (Chloe Charmichael) and Linda Peet Eno (Peter Eno); his grandchildren Ivan Peter Eno, Natasha Eno Scrivani (Brian Scrivani), Jessica Peet MacQueen (Grant Robert MacQueen), Olivia Rice Peet (William Pierre La Pointe), and William James Peet IV; and his great-grandchildren Sophia Alyce Scrivani, Dylan Eno Scrivani, Jasper Robert MacQueen, Everett Paul MacQueen, and Maeve Charlotte MacQueen, as well as nieces and nephews. There will be a Celebration of Life for Bill at 3pm on Friday, November 28th. It will be held at The Gardens at Seabrook Village.
