Utilia (Tillie) Taffuri

Utilia (Tillie) Taffuri, 89, of Tinton Falls, died on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at her home in Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls, NJ. Utilia was born October 9,1930 in the Bronx, NY, daughter of Nicholas and Mary Giannatelli. On September 21, 1952 she married the love of her life, Vincent M. Taffuri Sr. and remained married for 63 years. Vincent and Utilia left the Bronx and settled in Spring Valley, NY where they raised their 4 children. They moved to NJ in 2004, where they enjoyed 14 more happy years together living in Manchester and Red Bank, NJ, before Vincent’s death in 2015. Utilia then moved to Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls where she lived for another 5 years. She was a loving and dedicated mother to her 4 children, Vincent Taffuri jr. and his wife, Karen of Hawthorne NJ, Richard Taffuri of Wilmington, NC, Michael Taffuri of Oceanport, NJ and Maryrose Sorce and her husband, Vincent of Howell, NJ. Utilia took great pride in all of her children and truly loved spending time with her family. She especially loved being a grandmother to her 7 grandchildren, Vincent III, Gina, Vanessa, Nicholas, Lauren, Luke, Michala and her 3 great grandchildren, Cameron, Charlotte, and Viviann. Utilia was a gentle and warm soul. She welcomed everyone she met with open arms into her home as well as her heart. She made everyone feel as if they were part of her family. Utilia was a not only a mother to her 4 children, but an “adopted” mother to so many others. She had a way of profoundly touching the lives of everyone she met. She will forever be honored as a dedicated, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Utilia better known as “Tillie” will forever live on in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. May her soul rest in peace, as she returns to the kingdom of God, to reunite with her loved ones and live in eternal joy. A memorial Gathering to honor her life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 12:00-2:00pm at Bongarzone Funeral Home, 2400 Shafto Road, Tinton Falls NJ. 07721 The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations are made to the American Lung Cancer Association.
