Patricia A. King

Patricia A King (Pat), 94, of Wanamassa NJ. and Nanticoke Pa. passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, at home with family, after a brief illness. Pat is predeceased by her beloved husband David R. King, sharing 66 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2020. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, on May 15, 1931, Pat was the daughter of Carol McCaffrey. She spent her childhood years in Butler, PA. As a teenager Pat traveled to the Jersey shore town of Ocean Grove for various summer jobs, including the Sampler Inn. In a twist of fate, an overheard conversation led to an interview that provided a new job and a reason to stay in Asbury Park, NJ, where she soon would meet the love of her life, Dave. Pat and Dave enjoyed living their lives together. They were active in square dancing, loved Big Band music, and treasured traveling together. Pat and Dave were original members of the Church of St. Anselm and longtime volunteers at The Center in Asbury Park. They were honored with the "Outstanding Volunteer Award" for their work there on October 1, 2015. Pat is a graduate of Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, PA. She worked for many years as a cashier, bookkeeper, and baker for Grand Union supermarkets. In recent years she enjoyed watching the birds, squirrels, and other wildlife that visited her backyard feeders through the bay window installed by Dave. Mrs. King is survived by her daughters Pam Nobles and Kathy Murphy, her son-in-law Rob Spear, and her grandchildren Eliza, David, and Andrew. In addition to her husband, Pat is predeceased by her son Kenneth David King. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service for both Mrs. and Mr. David R. King, to take place at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, New Jersey on Friday October 17, 2025, at 2:00PM.
