Marie J Belfiore

Marie Belfiore passed away June 12, 2018. She was born on July 9, 1930. She will be celebrating her 88th birthday in Heaven. Marie was born to Philomena and Joseph Ferrara in Newark NJ. Marie was a loving Mother, Wife, Sibling, Niece and Cousin; and a wonderful friend to all. Her heart was big and gracious, and she always had a kind word and plenty of encouragement for anyone that may have needed it. She had a great sense of humor which she believed was the most important thing to keep in life. Marie was an accomplished pianist, a published writer of poems and stories, a creator of a few wonderful songs. She loved to draw and knit, keeping many of her loved ones warm in winter in the hats and scarfs she uniquely created. She made her own beautiful jewelry and worked for years in the retail jewelry business. A very inquisitive, creative person, Marie was always open to life, learning new things and sharing her knowledge. Unfortunately, she had to quit school in the 11th grade to help her family by working, so she didn’t get to graduate high school. Always a determined woman, Marie went to college at the age most people are retiring. She enrolled at Brookdale Community College and got her degree in Music. Then at the age of 70 she completed a full year course to receive her High School Diploma. This brilliant woman never quit. Marie’s mental and spiritual strength was contagious, and our family moto was “Strong like Bull”. Always optimistic, Marie had a giving, loving, caring, nurturing heart. Everyone was blessed to have had her in their life. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Belfiore, her Mother and Father, Philomena and Joseph Ferrara, Her two brothers, Ralph and Al Ferrara, and her Grandson James Vincent Clements. She is survived by her Loving Sister, Jeanette Castro, her daughter Karen McHugh and Son-in-Law Billy McHugh, Her son, Joseph Belfiore, Her daughter, Christine Belfiore, and Her Daughter Phyllis Kaylor and Son-In Law Art Kaylor. Marie is survived by her Grandson Michael Belfiore, Sarah, C.J. Andrew and Matt, Jessica, Artie, Steven, Marie, Nikki, Tony, Kristen, Lara and Matthew. Also surviving her are her 7 Great Grandchildren, Jordan, Joel, Connor, Rowan, Elijah, Gavin, and newest arrival Matthew. There will be a Memorial Service to Celebrate the life of Marie Belfiore on June 21, 2018 at Bongarzone Funeral Home, 2400 Shafto Road, Tinton Falls, NJ 07712 from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Monmouth County SPCA, 260 Wall street, Eatontown, NJ 07724 would be appreciated.
