Jacqueline L. Studer (“Jackie”) passed away peacefully in her home, cared for by her two sisters, on Sunday, October 24, 2021 in the Seabrook Senior Living Community in Tinton Falls. Jackie was born in Carney’s Point New Jersey and spent most of her life in North Bergen. Jackie and her sister Martha enjoyed working as waitresses at the Normandy Restaurant and Café in Asbury Park during summers. She completed a Masters of Education Degree from Seton Hall University and was a dedicated full time teacher for over 20 years. She was knowledgeable in early childhood development and was an integral part of the Child Study Team in North Bergen. In later life, she moved to Brick with her sister Liz to be closer to the beach and to explore more of the shore communities during her active retirement years. Jackie had broad interests, from wildlife conservation to the fine arts. She frequented museums and enjoyed the theatre, opera and ballet, as well as other cultural opportunities available in Newark and in New York. She was always willing to serve as the trip guide for her many nieces and nephews! Jackie loved the beach and had many outings to the boardwalk in Point Pleasant. Jackie’s other hobbies included gardening and bird watching. She was a member of the Gregory Club, the Audubon Society and the Nature Conservancy. Jackie loved her family and was happiest surrounded by them during celebrations. She kept very close track of all birthdays and accomplishments, particularly of the young ones in the family, and was always delighted to spend time with them and teach them something interesting and worthwhile! She encouraged them to think deeply and to explore the world. Jackie was predeceased by her mother Louise, her father Louis, her brothers Paul and Robert, her sisters Rosemary and Martha, and their respective spouses. She is survived by her sisters Elizabeth and Louise, and many grateful nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and her friends. Her intelligence, warmth, kindness and generosity, as well as her lovely smile, will never be forgotten! Jackie’s memorial mass will be offered at 1 PM on Saturday, October 30th at the Church of Saint Anselm, 1028 Wayside Road, Tinton Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Audubon Society (at audubon.org ), the Nature Conservancy (at nature.org ) or the Food Bank of Monmouth & Ocean Counties (at 3300 Rt. 66, Neptune, NJ 07753).
