Clifford D. Eddy

Clifford David Eddy, age 74, passed away suddenly at his home on October 17, 2024. He was born on September 9, 1950, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Edward and Jeanne Eddy. Cliff was a devoted husband, father, friend, and “Poppy” who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Cliff is survived by his loving family: his son, Matthew Ryan Eddy, his daughter-in-law, Kristen Eddy, and his cherished granddaughter, Averly Ivy Eddy. He is also survived by his siblings, Deborah Eddy and Greg Eddy, along with three nephews and two nieces. Cliff was predeceased by his beloved wife, Arlene Eddy, with whom he shared 26 beautiful years of marriage before her passing 9 years ago. He was also predeceased by his parents, Edward and Jeanne Eddy, and his siblings, Karen Eddy and Doug Eddy. Cliff grew up in Chatham Township, where he graduated from Chatham Township High School. He excelled as an athlete, lettering in three varsity sports: soccer, baseball, and basketball. He was especially proud of being voted Athlete of the Year in his senior year. Cliff continued his passion for sports at the University of Dayton, where he played four years of varsity soccer while earning his degree in marketing. Cliff’s love for sports carried throughout his life. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed playing golf as much as possible. He also gave back by coaching youth soccer and baseball, sharing his knowledge and love for the game. Professionally, Cliff spent the majority of his career with Canon as a Major Account Manager in New York City, where he was highly respected for his work ethic and dedication. In his later years, Cliff found peace and enjoyment in winding down his days with his friends at Woody’s, where he shared laughter, stories, and memories. His kindness, intelligence, and unwavering love for his family and friends were at the heart of who he was, and his presence will be deeply missed. A celebration of Clifford David Eddy’s life will be held from 10am until the service at 12 noon on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the Bongarzone Funeral Home, 2400 Shafto Road, Tinton Falls. Interment to follow at Germania Cemetery, Egg Harbor City. Cliff, we’ll do our best to honor your wishes. We won’t cry in sorrow; instead, we will celebrate the amazing life you lived. You will always be a part of us.
